Pushing Business at University of New England Forward
Norman O’Reilly Putting his Knowledge of Business into the University
With the College of Business at the University of New England (UNE) opening up, we needed a Dean for this section of the college. That’s where Norman O’Reilly steps in.
“He come in here with pretty, you know, large goals and he’s already accomplishing them right from the start” Aimee Vlachos, Ed.D., CPRP a professor and the Program Director of Outdoor Business and Innovation, Teaching Professor
He pushed a lot in last 5 months and has many plans for the future, working on getting a furthered degrees through UNE. This includes creating a master’s program and a Ph.D programs.

O’Reilly has many accomplishments under his belt when it comes to business. One of his notable achievements is his helps with the UMaine’s business programs establishment and growth, especially with the connection with the MBA. Allowing for many students to use the dual degrees with partnerships within many sectors, including law, engineering, and public policy.
Mr. O’Reilly has authored and co-authored 20 books, 14 case studies in the Harvard/Stanford series, and more than 165 peer-reviewed journal articles. These books are apart of revised addition to ensure they are up to date.
With the amount of knowledge he brings to UNE, he also listens to those around him. “I talked to him about my ideas and things I wanted to do and was supportive and saying, ‘let’s make things happen” Vlachos said.
